I am a Baptist seminary in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil and wish to share with my beloved brethren theological blog I'm building and improving gradually, based on activities during the seminar and, above all, in my apprenticeship with Jesus Christ. I hope that the brothers enjoy and send suggestions, so that God's name be glorified and we may be increasingly on their ways.May grace and peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with all the people of God scattered throughout face of the earth! My family is from Ardstraw, we are catholic, my family being O'Brien/Avery from the 1830's. We havnt been able to go much deeper than that, they where the last of my direct family to live in Ireland before moving to Australia. If anyone there could find anything on my family it would be of great appriciation. thank you soo very much.

My family and I passed through Ardstraw on 19 May and stopped by the church hoping to find Reverend Reid. I am looking for information concerning my ancestors who were from the Ardstraw area. My great, great, great grandfather (Samuel Kee) was born in this area in 1790. He took his family to Ontatio, Canada in 1834. His wife was Mary Dunlap Kee. The Kees came from Scotland and were probably Presbyterians. Any information you can provide on my ancestors would be much appreciated. I am in Virginia, USA.<br /> I can be reached at: sckee1@msn.com Thank you.

God bless you all.

My 5 great grandparents Patrick Jack Sr. and Eleanor lived in Ardstraw in 1721 and emigrated to Chester County, Pennsylvania. Their grandson Captain James Jack is being honored May 20th 2010 with a 14' bronze statue of him on a horse in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. You can see a video depicting him delivering the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence by horseback, a 1,000 mile roundtrip, May 20th, 1775. http://www.may20th.org It was 14 months before Thomas Jefferson's American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 17776. North Carolina was the first colony to ratify the American Declaration of Independence. We visited our cousins in Ardstraw, the Sidney Jack family, Easter Sunday and Monday back in 1990. My daughter Eileen Jack was attending Trinity College, Dublin at the time. My 2 great grandfather Rev. Neill Johnson, a descendant of a William Johnston family of County Tyrone founded the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the U.S. state of Oregon in 1851. WE enjoyed our visit to Ardstraw and the wonderful hospitality of the Sidney Jack family. Our best to all of you at the church. It has an amazing history! We love Ireland and its people.
